Smart Classrooms for Future-Ready Learning

At Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), education is not just about access—it is about quality, engagement, and future readiness. In partnership with Oracle, KISS has transformed traditional classrooms into dynamic, technology-enabled learning spaces that strengthen STEM and English competencies among tribal students.

By integrating digital tools into everyday learning, the initiative creates an environment where students can better understand, engage with, and apply knowledge.

Why It Matters

For many first-generation learners from tribal communities, classroom learning can often feel abstract and disconnected—especially in subjects like Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), and English.

Challenges include:

  • Limited exposure to technology-enabled learning tools
  • Difficulty in grasping abstract concepts through traditional teaching methods
  • Language barriers in transitioning from mother tongue to formal education
  • Lower engagement levels leading to dropouts

The Solution

  • The Smart Classroom initiative addresses these gaps by making learning more interactive, visual, and accessible, especially for students in Grades 1–10 and at the university level.

    With sustained support from Oracle over four consecutive years, KISS has established 250 smart classrooms, creating a strong foundation for technology-driven education at scale.
